Beyond the DeskExplore the Lab for Your TeamThe New Leadership Blueprint Lab
A facilitated executive lab for redesigning the workflows, capabilities, decision rights, incentives, governance, skills, trust, and organizational systems your organization needs next.
Tangible outcomes
The work is captured as four connected outputs, ready for an executive owner and a next decision.
Observable indicators of what the organization must be able to accomplish three to five years from now.
Blueprint outputA real process reconsidered through Remove, Automate, Augment, Invent, and the PLOT integrity check.
Blueprint outputA strategic organizational capability and the foundations required to begin building it.
Blueprint outputA consequential next move, assigned to a named owner and aligned by the leadership team.
Blueprint outputAn anonymized engagement example
A global organization used the New Leadership Blueprint Lab to redesign a critical HR workflow. The team identified opportunities to automate or augment up to 40% of its activities and redirect the resulting capacity toward customer growth. The most consequential breakthrough was recognizing that the redesigned workflow required a role that did not yet exist. Leaders used the Lab to define and create that new role, purpose-built for an AI-enabled way of working.

What happens inside the Lab
The experience is structured and facilitated—not open-ended play. The card decks give leaders a shared language for making trade-offs, testing assumptions, and aligning around action.
Whose experience and consequences must shape the design?
What should we remove, automate, augment, or invent?
What must the organization begin building now?
What breaks first when the blueprint meets pressure?
The working method
Each stage keeps the conversation anchored to a leadership decision, a practical question, and a tangible output.
Leadership decision
Set the future-state markers that will guide the redesign.
Three to five years from now, what must the organization enable that it cannot reliably enable today?
Workflow integrity check
A redesigned workflow is only as strong as the human system around it. Select each element to reveal the structural risk.
Who has the authority to make decisions and take action?
Without clear power, decisions funnel upward and the people closest to the work lose agency.
The capacity dividend
If AI releases capacity, leaders must decide whether it becomes more pressure or greater human possibility.
Move time toward the work customers can see and value.
The Lab makes the trade-off visible and actionable. Two engagement formats
Both formats center on real work and executive decisions. The difference is how deeply the team can examine the organizational system around the workflow.
Designed to move one consequential workflow from broad concern to a clear executive choice.
Provides the space to examine the organizational system around the workflow and develop a more complete blueprint.
Recommended group size5–30 participants; alternatives considered during scoping
Delivery optionsBest in person; adapted to the team, location, and engagement design

Who the Lab is for
Align around where AI should change the operating model and what the organization must build next.
Redesign a consequential workflow with the people who own its business and human outcomes.
Reconsider roles, skills, incentives, performance, and how judgment develops.
Move from pilots and activity to visible operating-model decisions.
Use the room to make and assign a real decision, then move it forward.

Frequently asked questions
The Lab is designed for the leaders who own the workflow, its business outcomes, and the human consequences of changing it. The final participant group is confirmed during scoping.
We select one consequential workflow that is important enough to matter, specific enough to examine, and ready for an executive decision. Beyond the Desk helps the sponsor test the choice before the session.
Each Lab is shaped around your workflow, strategic context, decision constraints, and desired outcome. The underlying method stays consistent; the working materials and facilitation focus do not.
Choose 90 minutes when the workflow is well defined and the priority is focused alignment. Choose a half day when the team needs deeper stakeholder analysis, organizational-system design, scenario testing, and a more developed action plan.
The Lab format works best in person, but delivery options depend on the team, location, and engagement design.
A short sponsor conversation and a clearly selected workflow are the essential starting points. Any additional preparation is confirmed during scoping.
The team leaves with the Lab outputs and a 90-day decision or action plan. Any follow-on advisory or implementation support is scoped separately.
No. The Lab is an executive work-redesign and decision experience. It is not software training or prompt training.
